This fall, UMTO has partnered with youth communities and venues from across the country to create the first edition of the UMTO TOUR.
Throughout November and December, the tour will visit 20 cities, presenting some of Denmark’s most current emerging bands and artists, accompanied by an exceptional team of talented young technicians and organizers.
On the South Jutland part of the tour, at venues such as Kanten, EWII House, Mejeriet and Godset, you can experience:
Laura Bugtrup
With a sound of modern indie folk, catchy choruses, and rawly honest lyrics, Laura observes the world and the people around her, as well as her own life and relationships. Despite having only been active for a year, Laura has already opened for names like Barbro and Kalaset and performed at SPOT Festival.
Mica Lizio
Mica Lizio embraces the ever-changing everyday life, delivering a unique sense of empathy and intensity as she puts words and sound to emotions and experiences inspired by the human encounters along her path. Through her music, Mica Lizio opens up space for both diversity and inclusivity, while also exploring contrasts in her Danish lyrics, which are blended with a sound rooted in her Italian and Korean heritage, giving her expression a unique tone and color. The captivating melodies and pure pop style stand in contrast to lyrics that both provoke thought and invite interpretation.
Knit
Knit is an up-and-coming band from Vejle, formed in 2023, that has crafted a style all their own. Drawing from rock, punk, and metal genres, Knit creates alternative music that fills the room. Despite being newcomers to the music scene, the band brings an energetic performance to the stage!
About UMTO
UMTO (Youth Communities Takeover) is a collective across cities consisting of some of the country’s sharpest young organizers/technicians. This fall, they are bringing together youth communities from all over the country to create their biggest project to date, spanning Denmark. The project is supported by the Tuborg Foundation and the Central Denmark Region and is made in collaboration with 15 youth communities and 6 venues across the country, as well as SPOT Festival and Fermaten.
