International TEXAS ROADHOUSE BLUES PARTY - that could very well register on the Richter scale!
VEGA STRAUSS BAND (US/DE/DK) is an International TEXAS ROADHOUSE BLUES PARTY, handpicked and assembled by KingBee exBLUESive back in 2014. Since the massive success of their first tour, they have established themselves as a stable lineup, touring Europe as their individual careers permit. The band consists of highly active and sought-after musicians: Tony Vega (guitar/vocals) & Kai Strauss (guitar/vocals), along with the swing-swinging Danish rhythm section: Henrik Poulsen (bass) and Mads D. Andersen (drums).
TONY VEGA was born in Chicago but raised in Houston, Texas, where he decided to dedicate his life to playing blues guitar after meeting Albert Collins in a guitar shop. In 1997, he fronted his own Tony Vega Band for the first time, known from the outset for masterful delivery of "Red hot bone shaking blues." An authentic expression that earned him several 'Houston Press Blues Awards': '2008 - Best Guitarist' / '2007 - Best Male Vocalist' / '2004 - Best Blues' / '2002 - Best Contemporary Blues' / '2001 - Best Blues' ... but the greatest award of all came when Mr. ZZ - Billy Gibbons - proclaimed: "..Tony Vega is a MONSTER.!" Tony Vega has five releases under his belt, the latest being 'Black Magic Box' from 2016, featuring guest appearances by talented individuals such as singer/harmonica player Guy Forsyth and Fabulous Thunderbirds guitarist Johnny Moeller.
KAI STRAUSS is a well-known and beloved name in Denmark, where he often visits with his own band 'The Electric Blues All-Stars.' Hailing from Lengerich, Germany, his guitar playing alone could make one mistake him for a full-blooded Texan. Among guitar aficionados, he is hailed as one of Europe's best in the 'No Bullshit/Texas Blues/Gunslinger Guitar Style,' akin to Jimmie Vaughan, Anson Funderburgh, Ronnie Earl, Mike Morgan, and others who are renowned ambassadors of this style. In addition to numerous award-winning albums with his own band, Kai Strauss has recorded with a variety of internationally touring artists whom he invites to his studio when they pass through Germany. Recent albums feature artists like Big Daddy Wilson, and past collaborations include Darrell Nulisch, Sugar Ray Norcia, Keith Dunn, Boyd Small, Mike Wheeler, Sax Gordon, and more...
... and of course, TONY VEGA, HENRIK POULSEN, and MADS D. ANDERSEN.
