DR Big Band and Danish harmonica phenomenon Mathias Heise bring John Coltranes iconic album 'A Love Supreme' and several other Coltrane masterpieces into the spotlight with a fresh, loving interpretation.

In 1965, the legendary jazz saxophonist John Coltrane recorded the album 'A Love Supreme' in a single take. Since then, this groundbreaking album has been cherished by jazz fans around the world. Now, the DR Big Band and Danish harmonica phenomenon Mathias Heise bring this iconic album and several other Coltrane masterpieces into the spotlight with a fresh, loving interpretation. Mathias Heise’s award-winning, virtuosic harmonica playing combined with the big band’s innovative arrangements gives Coltrane’s hard-bop compositions a completely new sound that Coltrane himself would undoubtedly have loved. They are nothing less than the perfect match. “Miraculous,” “fantastic,” and “almost too good to be true” - that’s how Politiken described Heise’s last performance with the DR Big Band at DR Concert Hall. Here at Jazz6000, we’re thrilled that John Coltrane, Mathias Heise, and the DR Big Band have come together to recreate 'A Love Supreme'.
