With her trombone, at once gently restrained and dramatically seductive, Lis Wessberg tells the most exquisite stories, accompanied by three of Denmark’s finest sidemen. Together, they leave a profound impression on anyone who listens.

"Yellow Map" from 2022 was the work of a master. That master is Lis Wessberg, and now she has done it again. Just like with her debut album, reviewers are once more lining up to shower her latest release, Twain Walking (2024), with praise. With this captivatingly beautiful, melodic, and modern work, she has once again proven herself to be an extraordinary composer and arguably Denmark’s finest trombonist. With her trombone, at once gently restrained and dramatically seductive, Wessberg tells the most exquisite stories, accompanied by three of Denmark’s finest sidemen. Together, they leave a profound impression on anyone who listens. The sound is fresh. It’s different. Who would have thought that a tender trombone, combined with intensely rhythmic and electronic music with a powerful pulse, could produce such exquisite, unparalleled musical magic? The magazine GAFFA has hailed Lis Wessberg’s latest album as nothing short of a masterpiece—and we couldn’t agree more.

Line-up:
