Odense Jazz Orchestra

Music makes people happy, especially when creating and experiencing it together. This opportunity will be offered to several school classes in Kolding, as we host a grand choir concert. The story follows Yasmin, a young girl faced with a choice: to join her mother on a yoga retreat or accompany her father and his big band on tour. Naturally, she chooses the latter. Yasmin’s holiday school schedule includes jazz, rock 'n' roll, bossa nova, and more, brought to life by the incredible Odense Jazz Orchestra and a massive children’s choir from Kolding, conducted by Anders Møller. Together, they’ll take the audience on a musical journey through the world of jazz, introducing us to fascinating instruments and the joy of making music. Come and give yourself and your children an unforgettable experience in the name of music!

About the Project:
This is an educational initiative for children in grades 4-6.

Combining high artistic quality with a commitment to the local environment and community is key to creating new, sustainable educational initiatives. Over the years, Odense Jazz Orchestra has focused on actively introducing children and young people to art and culture. This focus stems from the importance of providing high-quality rhythmic music with an educational angle for young audiences, as well as connecting culture with learning. We need shared experiences that benefit us all in our busy and stressful everyday lives.

For several years, Odense Jazz Orchestra has centered its educational efforts on a Kahoot-based project. This concert features Kahoot as a tool to explore everyday challenges through the story of JAZZmin, a young girl who learns all about a big band, its musicians, and their instruments.
