After a slightly too long break, Godset Songwriter returns on Wednesday, February 19th, to the beautiful surroundings as we kick off the 2025 season with an excellent lineup!
Welcome to Godset Songwriter, where you can experience exciting songwriters from the burgeoning music scene.
We present both artists who have already established themselves in the Danish music scene and those who are just below the surface, potentially the next ones to take on larger stages.
The lineup is a mix of external names and local artists, totaling three, each performing a set typically in an acoustic setup.
Today's line up:
ANTON L
Anton L is an exciting new name in the Danish music scene, who at just 22 years old is already making a mark as a talented singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. Anton L sings about youth life, love, and the transition to adulthood, carrying a heavy baggage of anxiety, grief, and loneliness that shapes his narrative. His lyrics blend convincingly with music in the genre of soft pop/rock with hints of funk and soul: beautiful melodies, well-composed songs, and a mature, even educated, singing voice.
In the fall of 2023, he released his self-titled debut EP to a warm reception among listeners and critics alike. Additionally, the EP's two singles were extensively played on DR P5 and DR P4. "Anton L is one of those we will hear a lot from in the coming years in the Danish music scene" (Ole Jacobsen, Studio 5, DR P5)
RAYMONDE GAUNOUX
With a strong and heartfelt vocal, Raymonde Gaunoux shares vulnerable and queer songs full of power, faith, hope, and love. With his inviting and embracing character, he fills the space with moving, authentic, and grandiose music that will undoubtedly find its way to your heart and give you an experience you didn't know you were missing.
The imaginative compositions and vivid lyrics lean into the sound of Prince ballads, David Bowie's quirkiness, and melodious North American indie-folk-rock. Raymonde advocates for visibility of transgender identity in the music industry and released the debut EP 'Transitions' in May 2024, which landed him on the cover of GAFFA and received 5-star reviews, radio airplay, and guest appearances on 'Længe Leve Albummet' and 'Mon Amie Complexe' on P6 Beat. The Danish-French-American musician is represented by Queer Music Agency and has performed on the main stage at Copenhagen Pride 2022, VEGA, RUST, Stengade, Teater Republique, as well as critically acclaimed concerts at SPOT Festival and Northside Festival 2024.
EMMA HØRLYCK
In 2016, she became the first in Denmark to be admitted to MGK Songwriting, received the Engelsholm Højskole scholarship from Mads Langer in 2018, and released two albums in 2020. Despite an impressive CV, 26-year-old Emma Hørlyck is passionate about showing the conventional 12-grade Denmark that alternative paths are possible. She has no formal education, no "plan B" - but she does have 20 jobs under her belt. Audiences have found her on all stages and media, including at Jelling Musikfestival, on 'Go'morgen Danmark', and as support for Pil. In addition to her solo project, she has given lectures on stress among youth and works as tour manager for Fallulah.
Her Danish-language songs are thoughtful and uncompromising. As GAFFA writes: "There is plenty of character to be found in the gentle verses of Danish-language poetry, which also show the shadow of a strong woman, laden with words and opinions that extend beyond the traditional love anthem.
